There's something about the distortion of the visuals that make this chilling.

witlatch responds:

I appreciate the comment, thank you!

Glad I found fanart of The Ring that’s fucking normal for once.

fattyfatfatto responds:

Thanks, I've noticed an alarming amount of naughty fan arts of The Ring too, very strange

If this is all on one layer, you must have lots of skills for traditional painting. Keep aiming higher :)

CianetoNeon responds:

Thanks!! Unfortunately so far i never tried traditional painter, but hopefully one day i'll try that medium

Very detailed drawing and dynamic design. How long did this take?

ZeroSetsu responds:

thanks for the concern tho

Those flies real or props? Either way, this is on another level.

linda-mota responds:

plaastic ones. i don't use real bugs. i have a client who did glue on real flies on a commissioned work i did for him. i get asked if i'm offended by that but it's his piece he paid for do idc i'm just glad to have cash in hand.

The whites used as a positive space works well with this. I’m impressed how other than cliché monsters, you can just casually draw psychologically disturbing entities so well day after day. Any references or is it all spooky imagination?

linda-mota responds:

it's all stufgf i've seen and dreamt about, aksoi made up too lol

Any technique tips of the kinds of strokes that you did here because HOLY HECK!

SamuraiKNOX responds:

long message incoming: So I use Liquitex heavy body acrylics and the brushes you use makes a big difference try not to cheap out if possible and you have to get rough with them sometimes, for strokes, if I'm trying to blend two colours or shades and want to avoid obvious separation i use dabs, slightly wet a brush and dab the area you see separation while the paint is still wet, this will get rid of any separation between colours :)

one of the main things with blending and shading is you have to work while the paint is still wet or else you will have obvious brush strokes, if you're painting a wide empty space like what you see on my venom its best to work fast.

here's an important one!!!! if your painting someone like venom who is mostly dark, its easier to paint in the silhouette black and then slowly add the details on top of that instead of the other way around, so I will have a sketch of venom then I will paint his head completely black, then I will paint the eyes on top of that then start painting the mouth then start adding the different blues and greys, basically always start with darks first then lighter colours after :) I hope this helps and thank you!

cool. What exactly did it look like before you painted it?

linda-mota responds:

it had an orange underbase when i saw using these fetus faces for dolls.

I mainly come here to critique art works and animations, so that I understand art fundementals better. In the future, I'll likely make content here.
